Performance
Speed & Acceleration
The X7 Pro has a 20mph top speed and can accommodate both beginner and seasoned riders with three modes that they can choose from. The modes include:
- Beginner (6 mph top speed).
- Eco (12 mph top speed).
- Sport (20 mph top speed).
While there is a similar motor in the regular X7, the X7 Pro has a snappier acceleration, which means that Turboant may have also done some upgrades to their motor.
The Turboant X7 Pro managed to go from 0 mph to 15 mph in 7.5 seconds, which is quite good for a scooter of its price.
Battery & Range
The X7 Pro has a bigger 36V, 10Ah (360WH) battery that’s a 65% increase in size compared to its predecessor, the X7. Also, this battery is larger compared to other TurboAnt’s scooter M10.
The newer battery provides the X7 Pro with enough juice to cover a 30-mile range in optimal terrain and riding conditions.
It has a detachable battery design that can be taken out whenever you want to charge your scooter or replaced with a charged one for a more extended range.
The battery has a 5-hour charge time, which is good for a 360Wh battery.
However, you should note that ridding more aggressively or ridding on hilly terrains can lower the range significantly.
Brakes
Brakes are essential when riding any locomotive, and the Turboant X7 Pro doesn’t disappoint. The scooter provides riders with various breaking systems that ensure they stop quickly.
The first brake is hand-operated, which activates the rear wheel disc brake. Hand-operated brakes work efficiently, allow you to stop slowly, and are incredibly reliable in most scenarios.
However, if you want to stop quicker (i.e., emergency braking), you could try stomping on the rear fender for more effective stopping power.
The brakes make the X7 Pro perfect for driving in urban settings.
TurboAnt X7 Pro Design and Features
TurboAnt X7 Pro Build Quality
Even though the Turboant X7 scooter is less expensive, it hasn’t cut some corners regarding build quality and durability.
The scooter’s frame is made from an aluminum alloy that makes it sturdy and robust. However, the material used makes it heavier than other scooters using carbon fiber.
Its solid build allows it to carry more weight than most other scooters making it a huge money saver.
The scooter is quite durable and can be ridden for an extended period without getting damaged. The scooter receives lots of positive feedback regarding its design, reliability, sturdiness, and 275-pound carrying capacity.
Is TurboAnt X7 Pro Waterproof?
The Turboant X7 Pro has an IPX4 water resistance rating.
The rating implies that the internal circuitry is protected from water splashes from any direction, including low-pressure water jets from all angles.
The deck’s grippy material allows riders to use the Turboant X7 Pro in the rain. However, you have to ensure that you dry it off once you go back indoors.
Portability
The Turboant X7 Pro uses a simple folding design that makes moving the scooter in between locations easier. You could store it easily when it isn’t in use and click it back into action quickly whenever you want to use it.
However, while it is relatively light, it has a thicker stem, making it harder for individuals with smaller hands to transport it. However, this is a minor inconvenience for most people and is soon forgotten after some time. After all, you are meant to ride the scooter, not carry it.
Cockpit
The Turboant X7 Pro has an LED screen installed at the center of the handlebars and is used to monitor the scooter’s critical starts.
The screen tells you your speed, current riding mode (each mode is displayed in a different color), and battery level. The dashboard is excellent since it provides you with all the information without getting in your way.
Wheels and Tires
The scooter has huge 10″ pneumatic tires with excellent shock-absorbing capabilities. They also have a slick tread pattern that makes them great for riding in urban settings.
Also, the large tires also allow you to ride the scooter on rougher terrains when needed.
Ride Quality
The Turboant X7 Pro has no suspension, making it a bit rougher to ride. Its big tires compensate for the missing suspension by acting as shock absorbers, especially when riding on rough terrains. However, the Turboant X7 Pro would have a buttery smooth ride if it had a good suspension.
While the scooter can handle rough terrains, you must remember that the tires aren’t explicitly designed for that type of terrain. Thus, it would be a great idea to stick to urban terrain if you would. You could ride it in the park or dirt tracks, but anything rougher than that could be strenuous to you and the scooter.
